Once in three years the Centraal Museum in Utrecht shows work of some of the artists and designers who live and work in Utrecht or otherwise linked to this city.

Also in 1995 the works of fifty people were presented in the Museum. By then they were rebuilding the Museum, so the spaces were very large and rough. When I am showing work in a big exposition like this it is very important to choose a place that gives the works enough space and rest.

The Museum has a tower, which is not often used for showing work. The stairs that lead to the tower are very narrow. You can only walk the stairs one by one. On the platform in the tower it is only possible to stand with a few persons at the same time. I made a series of sculptures from paraffin for this place. They were hanging or standing on the wood or concrete.

In 1998 the presentation again was in a building that was in renovation. This time it was the City Hall of Utrecht. Now I chose a small room with white ceramic tiles on the wall. Again I made a series of sculptures of paraffin like three years before and put them on a floor of paraffin, such as I did at Hedah in 1996. Now I added another effect, at irregular time intervals different parts of sculptures and some islands in the paraffin started to melt.
